      Mr. and Mrs. William George Morton who were married at Knox Church vestry early in December. The bride was the former Nedra Van Zant. Their attendants were Mr. Wesley Morton and Miss Margaret Morton. Mr. and Mrs. Morton are living in Owen Sound.

      A quiet but interesting marriage took place at 12:30 on Saturday Dec. 10. In the vestry of Knox United Church of Berna Nedra VanZant, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jno VanZant of Manitowaning, to Wm George, son of Mrs. Wm. Morton of Owen Sound and the late Wm. Morton. Rev. Allan Ferry officiating. The bride wore a becoming gown of green crepe with hat, shoes and gloves to match, with corsage of Talisman roses. They were attended by Mr. Wesley Morton and Miss Margaret Morton. After dinner at the Morrison Inn the happy couple left amid showers of confetti for a short honeymoon trip. They will reside in Owen Sound.

      VANZANT, Nedra - Peacefully at her home, Owen Sound on Thursday, May 25, 2000. Nedra Morton (nee Vanzant), born April 15, 1913. Loving wife and life-long partner of the late William George Morton (1985). Dedicated and always loving mother to Barry Morton and his wife Donna, Bill Morton and his wife Sandy, Dennis Morton and his wife Bridget and Brenda and her husband Phil Goodfellow. Cherished grandmother and lovingly remembered by her 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Loving sister of Burke Vanzant and his wife Harriet, Bona Lang, Royce Vanzant and Clyde Vanzant and his wife Karen. Also survived by three sisters-in-law Helen Taylor, Olive Marklevitz and Evelyn Vanzant. Predeceased by brothers Loyal Va nzant and Glynn Vanzant and his wife Edna. "Aunt Nedra" will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews, friends and anyone who knew of her many kindnesses. A special thank you from the family to Shelley and the other wonderful homemakers whose visits allowed our mother to stay in her own home up until the end, it was her fondest wish.
      The funeral service was conducted in the Tannahill Funeral Home Chapel,Owen Sound on Monday , May 29 with Reverend Don Harry of Knox United Chur ch officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery in Owen Sound. As expressions of sympathy, the family would appreciate memorial donationto the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice.
