We were glad to have a letter from Ivan Sisson, formerly of this village. He received a call in December from the Merchant Marine to join a new Norwegian steamer as Wireless Operator. He likes his work he says, and finds it all very interesting. Since moving to Toronto a few years ago, Ivan has taken Wireless classes at Night school besides holding down a war job. We wish him eery success and best of yet another letter to another chap who will be glad you did.

IVAN SISSON - In loving memory of Ivan Sisson, September 17, 1913 to December 16, 2005. Ivan Sisson, a resident of South Baymouth, died peacefully at the Mindemoya Hospital at the age of 92 years young. Ivan was a wonderful, gentleman with a great sense of humour and adventure. In 1939 he married his sweetheart Molly and they moved to Toronto. Ivan attended "The Radio College of Canada" where he received his wireless radio operator's licence. He joined the Merchant Marines as a wireless radio operator. After the war, Ivan returned to South Baymouth with Molly and his young son Paul. He worked for South Baymouth Fisheries Research Station (Lands and Forest) for 30 years until his retirement. Ivan had a great love for the outdoors, spending all his free time camping and fishing with his family. Boating was a great passion of Ivan's, cruising the North Channel, Georgian Bay and the Great Lakes with his son Paul. Ivan and Molly enjoyed many memorable boating trips with family and good friends. After retirement Ivan and Molly enjoyed travelling and spending their winters in Florida. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 66 years, Muriel (Molly) nee Gelston; loving and loved father of Paul and daughter-in-law Carole; proud grandfather of Sherry (Barry) and Cindy (Scot) and great grandfather of Ryan, Steven and Katelyn.
