Popular couple Wed at Little Current
The home of Mr. and Mrs. F. Lehman, Little Current, was the scene of a quiet wedding on Monday, Sept. 18th, when their elder daughter, Kathleen Dorothy, was united in marriage to Mr. Chester Burns, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alex. Burns, Gore Bay. Autumn flowers with pink streamers over the archway made the setting for the ceremony at which Rev. B.F. Fuller, Silver Water officiated.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of white satin taffeta made with very full skirt with a bustle bow at the back, full puff sleeves and fitted bodice. Her finger tip veil was held with flower headdress. She carried a bouquet of talisman toses. Her only attendant was her sister, Marguerite who wore a gown of pale blue dotted organza and also carried roses. The bride's mother wore a gown of suez sheer and the bridegroom's mother one of navy sheer. Mr. Roy Baxter acted as groomsman.
Following the ceremony, at which about 30 guests were present, a buffet lunch was served at which Mrs. Stewart, the bride's grandmother, poured tea.
For traveling the bride wore a woolen frock of postman's blue with navy blue accessories. After a short honeymoon the couple will reside in Gore Bay.
