Obituary, The Recorder, Gore Bay, Thursday, April 13, 1922
      Robert Berry
On Saturday evening, April 1, death again entered Kagawong and called another one from our midst in the person of Robert J. H. Berry, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Berry.
The deceased had been suffering for a few months back from diabetis (sic), but passed away quite suddenly on Saturday evening at 9 o'clock after being only two days confined to bed.
Robbie, as we all knew him, was a very bright, intelligent boy of 13 years and 11 months, one of a family of four boys and two girls.
Had he been spared to grow up to manhood he would have shown talents which would have surprised even those of his own family, but Providence ordained it otherwise and called the little patient sufferer to Himself.
There are left to mourn his loss, his parents, two sisters and three brothers to whom the sympathy of all who knew him go out.
The funeral service was conducted in the Union Church by Rev. James McLauchlan, where many gathered to show their sympathy. The remains were laid to rest in Kagawong cemetery. The floral offerings were sent by the following: his grandmother, Mrs. Pickard, Mrs. John Greenfield, Mrs. James Gordon, while the one that lay at his feet came from the Sunday school.
The children of Heaven, all dressed in white
Were playing together in the Garden of Light
When Jesus came smiling and said to the band
Here's another young pilgrim, come give him our hand.

The Recorder, Gore Bay, Thursday, April 13, 1922
      Card of Thanks
Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Berry and family wish to thank their many friends for the help and sympathy showed them during the sickness and death of their little son.
