Obituary, The Recorder, Gore Bay, Thursday, November 26, 1914
      Mrs. Geo. Witty Died Suddenly
The residents of Gordon Township and Gore Bay were shocked on Tuesday morning to learn that during the night Mrs. Geo. Witty had died suddenly at her home in Gordon. Her husband was wakened about four a.m. by the heavy breathing of his wife and he got up and by the time he had secured a light she had passed away. A doctor was immediately summoned who is of the opinion that she died of heart failure.
The deceased was in her fifty-seventh year. Her maiden name was Annie Mervyn. Besides her bereaved husband, she leaves two daughters to mourn her sudden death, viz., Mrs. W. Armstrong, of Gore Bay, and May at home. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Geo. Noble of Barrie Island, and four brothers, Harry, Jack, James, and George.
The bereaved family have the sincere sympathy of a large circle of friends in their sad bereavement.
The funeral takes place today from her late residence at 1:30 p.m. to Gordon Cemetery.
